Philadelphia Wedding at Bok
Claire & Kevin
Claire and Kevin are our kind of people. They are warm and friendly. They call Brewerytown, Philadelphia home and love grabbing a beer at Crime + Punishment. For their adventure shoot, we rode bikes down the Schuylkill River Trail, taking a few breaks to enjoy the warm weather (they brought their own hammock) and also dodge some freak thunderstorms. They foster kittens and even have an Instagram dedicated to them, along with their cat Dot. We could go on and on, but the point is that we really love this awesome couple.
The day started with Claire and Kevin getting ready within a block of each other – Claire at Lather Salon and Kevin at their home. After a rainy and happy first look on their block, the wedding party loaded into a bus and made their way down to South Philly. The wedding was held at Bok, a converted school building that mirrors the couple’s fun and down-to-earth vibe. The ceremony was held in the romantically nostalgic auditorium, with Claire and Kevin writing their own vows. You could tell how comfortable they were, with a close friend from Elon officiating their ceremony. After some cocktails, crossword puzzles and exploring the halls of the former school, guests made their way to the former gym (which still have the original hoops, ropes and rings hanging from the ceiling!) for dinner and dancing. We even fit in some misty portrait time on the Bok’s rooftop, which is now home to a beer terrace called Bok Bar. Confetti & Co and Devon & Pinkett teamed up to create an atmosphere that perfectly captured the happy nature of this couple, with balloons, bistro lighting and beautiful flowers featuring pops of peach.
